So much had the Owner of African Cat enjoyed owning a Mangusta 108 that when the time came to upgrade, there was no question about who would build their next dream yacht: the same shipyard. Their choice was settled on a semi-customised Mangusta 130, part of the Italian yard’s very successful 130 series.

The result is African Cat: a sleek, sporty yacht with a timeless design that is now listed on the market for the first time since her delivery in 2007.

She has been treasured by her Owner for the past 14 years and is presented in exceptional condition, with low engine hours and a history of only light private use, having never been chartered.

One of the few 130s with five cabins, the 40m yacht can sleep 12 guests and includes a full-beam master suite and VIP stateroom. Her rich interiors mix polished High Gloss Wenge with sumptuous fabrics and other high-quality materials, the work of British design house Earlcrown together with Mangusta.

With much of her layout dedicated to exterior spaces, alfresco living comes to the fore. Along with a large sunbed on the stern, she has a built-in seating area that provides welcome privacy when in port. Her generous deck areas are tailor-made for entertaining, although much thought has also been given to creating an environment that is safe for multi-generational groups: the aft-deck lounging area includes a Jacuzzi, added at the Owner’s request so younger family members could swim safely. One of her cabins has been configured with a double bunk bed, an ideal arrangement for children. This is a yacht where versatility comes to the fore.

A tender garage is located under the aft of the yacht and houses a 16’ Castoldi tender. Two dedicated storage compartments exist on either side of the aft and can each accommodate a Yamaha Jetski. A swim platform allows direct access to both the water and tender garage.

African Cat has been maintained to the highest standards since her launch and pre-sale upgrades include new teak throughout the vessel and all mechanical maintenance up to date.
